Bringing in the New Year

Guess whose toes will be warm and toasty after the Polar Plunge?

Start off 2014 with a New Year's day ride or polar bear plunge! -- And then head over to the Hammer's for food, fun, and friendship at their annual New Year's Day brunch!

Tam will be rolling out from Preston Beach at 8:30 a.m. for a frosty fifteen. Temps are expected to be in the low 20's, so bundle up! The plan is to loop out around Marblehead neck and the perimeter of town for a 15 mile ride (give or take a few). We'll be back at Swampscott by 10 a.m.

Then meet Cyclopath Donna (and the Cronin boys) at Fisherman's Beach for Swampscott Yacht Club's 8th Annual Polar Bear Plunge! Take a refreshing dip into the icy cold Atlantic, (while making a charitable contribution in the process). The SYC has raised over $50,000 for local charities through the polar plunge. Registration starts at 10:15 a.m. at the Fish House, with the plunge to follow at 11. (Visit the SYC website at swampscottyachtclub.org for information and a pledge sheet.)
