| Sea Glass riders at the start, minus two. |
This year's ride was a small gathering -- honoring the memory of our friend Sue de Vries, whose favorite ride was up the coast to Gloucester. We ended up splitting into several groups after crossing the Beverly-Salem Bridge -- with Donna and the Prices riding to Beverly Farms, (Paul in his street shoes); Anne, Drew and Tam as far as Manchester Center; Tom and Jeff flying up to Gloucester; with Ethan, Arlene and Susan following behind. (Lynda surprised us all by arriving on her motorcycle (!), and escorted us through a few crossings.) We had overcast skies with a few peeks of sun, but the rain held off and we had a nice ride, with many laughs and stories along the way.
Following the ride, Mike C. and Tam hosted a post ride brunch with all of the Cyclopaths -- including our Cyclopath founders, (Bill & Barbara, Sheldon & Fran, Av & Laurie) -- many we haven't seen in a while, (Mojito Dave, Mike Kelleher, Little Dave and Lynda) -- and Ducky, looking terrific after her recent fall. It was nice to catch up with each other and share more fun memories. It was a great day of friendship, love and laughter.
